Project
For the living room of a private residence we made a classical fireplace that rises to the ceiling, its mantel carried by two caryatid figures. The figures, reliefs and cornice were rough-carved by robot; faces, folds and the final surface were finished by our craftsmen.

Sculpture in stone
Every part of the fireplace — figures, columns, cornice and upper panel — was made from the same veined white marble to match.

Process
From block to building
Measuring, production and inspection by one team.
Robotic figure carving
The caryatid figures were rough-carved from the marble block on a robotic arm.
Hand finishing
Faces, drapery folds and the final surface were finished by our craftsmen.
Reliefs
The reliefs of the cornice and overmantel were also worked by robot.

The pieces came together in the living room; the fireplace rises to the ceiling.
